Abstract:
This study was conducted on Clemantine trees at the age of 17 years, planted in a private orchard in Al-Harah village, affiliated with Lattakia, during the 2024-2025 agricultural season. The study aimed to evaluate the impact of repeated foliar spraying with a high- potash compound (40% potassium) on the production and fruit quality characteristics. The experiment included four groups of trees : trees without spray “control”, trees sprayed once, one month after fruit set on May10th ,trees sprayed twice(10 May,a second spray during rapid fruit growth stage on June 10th),trees sprayed three times (10May,10June,third spray ,one month before the start of fruit coloring ,on August1st) and tress sprayed four times(10May,10June,1August,21 August). The results showed that increasing the frequency of foliar potassium spraying had a positive effect on production and fruit quality. specifically, the four –spray treatment yielded the best results in terms of the physical characteristics of the fruits (fruit weight, volume and juice percentage) 90.05g,110.33cm3and 45.79% respectively, the other treatments. Statistical analysis of the chemical properties (TSS and total sugars) also revealed that the three-spray and four –spray treatments were superior to other treatments, without significant differences between them. Regarding to acidity, a decrease in fruit acidity content was observed as the number of sprays increased, the control treatment recorded the highest acidity 1.76%. In terms of yield, the four –spray treatment achieved the highest production quantity at 175.7 kg, compared to the control treatment which yielded 150.8 kg.
Keywords: high, potassium compound, “Clemantine“, productive trails.
