Box model was designed in this study to compare the measured\nflow with calculated one of absorbent wells. The results&nbsp; showed that the use\nof Darcy\npermeability coefficient in Dupuit equation is inappropriate, in which\nthe calculated\nflow was less than the measured flow by 24.0 to 29.3%. Therefore, the variations of the permeability coefficient\nwere studied according\nto the movement of water towards the wells by\ntracing the level\nof ground\nwater in\nthe observing tubes\nand piezometers. The results confirmed that the permeability values resulting\nfrom the exudation distance are more consistent with theoretical\nstudies\ncomparing with results that depended\non the water\nlevel in the well. However, the permeability value for the case of the water level in the well Kber1 ranged\nfrom\n0.015 to 0.018 cm\/min, whereas the permeability\nvalue based on the distance of the exudation in\nthe locations far from the axis of the well Kber2 was 0.029 cm\/min\napproximately,\nbut in a\nnear\nlocation, it was 0.047 cm\/min. The study also showed that\nthere was a good\nagreement between the measured flow and\ncalculated one, therefore\nthe results obtained in the present study can be relied upon to estimate the flow of\nabsorbing wells for\nsuch soils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key words:<\/strong> Agricultural drainage, Ground water level, Ddrainage wells, Permeability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/agri-research-journal.net\/sjar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/v7n4p28.pdf\">Full paper in Arabic: PDF<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Marwan Alhaj Houssein*(1) (1).
