The study was conducted on summer\ndate (1<sup>st<\/sup> of September), during 2016\/2017 season, to study the\neffect of seaweed extracts on the productivity and quality traits (Root\nweight\/plant (g), shoot weight\/plant (g), dry matter content (%), and crude\nprotein content (%) of shoot and root) of fodder beet, assigned in randomized\ncompletely block design (RCBD), with three replicates. The results showed that\nseaweed extracts surpassed the control significantly for all the studied\ntraits, and this reflects the importance of new source of (seaweeds), which are\nincreasingly used in crop production. Sea weeds are environmentally benign and\nsafe for the health of animals and humans. Also, seaweed extracts includes many\ncomponents such as macro- and microelement nutrients, amino acids, vitamins,\ncytokinins, auxins, and abscisic acid (ABA)-like growth substances affect\ncellular metabolism in treated plants leading to enhanced growth and crop\nyield. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key words:<\/strong> Fodder beet, Seaweed, Summer sowing, Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/agri-research-journal.net\/sjar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/v7n4p38-1.pdf\">Full paper in English: PDF<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Entessar Mohammad AL Jbawi*(1) Hiba ShamsAlDeen(2) and Samir Shamsham(3) (1).
