Saccharata<\/em>) grains (<em>Merit hybrid<\/em>) in plastic pots that were\ndistributed according to randomized complete design with six pots per\ntreatment. The research aimed to study the effect of plant spray with the\ngibberellic acid (15 and 30 ppm), balanced fertilizer (NPK) (10 g\/L), and both gibberellic\nacid and balanced fertilizer on some growth, productivity and quality\ncharacteristics of sweet-corn-hybrid under salt stress conditions (4, 8 and 12)\ndS\/cm. The saline stress, especially at 8 and 12 dS\/cm levels, negatively\naffected the growth of sweet corn plants that led to decrease in fresh ears\nyield (g\/plant) with reduced kernels protein content. The treatment of balanced\nfertilization NPK did not show any significant effects (<em>P\u02c30.05<\/em>) on the\ngrowth and productivity of plant; while the spray with gibberellic acid showed\npositive effects on most of morphological, physiological and productivity\n(fresh ears yield and its components) and quality (total content (%) of soluble\nsugar and protein) traits of the plants that were growing under control or salt\nstress conditions.&nbsp; It could be recommended\nto spray gibberellic acid with 15-30 ppm concentrations considering to its\nobserved role in stimulating the growth of Merit hybrid, besides increasing the\nyield and quality of fresh ears, as well as improving the plants tolerance to\nsaline stress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Keywords: <\/strong>Sweet corn, Gibberellic acid GA<sub>3<\/sub>, Balanced fertilizer (NPK), Salt stress. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Full paper in Arabic: <a href=\"http:\/\/agri-research-journal.net\/sjar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/v7n3p21.pdf\">PDF<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mais Daher(1) Majd Darwish*(1) and Sawsan Haifa(2) (1).
