E-Mail: hafsel80@gmail.com).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Received: 19\/03\/2019&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Accepted: 17\/07\/2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nresearch was conducted&nbsp; in 2009 at Tal\nAl-Tot watershed in \u200b\u200bSalmiya,\nHama governorate, with has an area of \u200b\u200b281.3\nkm<sup>2<\/sup>, in order to define&nbsp; the\nhydrologic&nbsp; situation and water balance,\ndepending&nbsp; on topographic maps,\ngeological maps, satellite image, GIS and climatic data (temperature, precipitation and\nevaporation), which were collected from a number of meteo stations in the study\narea, besides data from the Directorate of Water Resources in Hama, which\nincluded surface flow ratios and\nunderground water levels, for number of&nbsp; the representing wells in the study area, to make\na&nbsp; set of databases, also, the relation\nbetween the elements of water balance was studied, besides the ground water movement of the targeted\nwatershed. The results indicated that the basin was elongated and the\nhydrographic net was dense and branched, and the concentration time was 10.14\nhours. The water balance showed that most of the total rainfall is lost by\nevaporation, and the runoff&nbsp; was (23)%.\nThe diagrams of the studied wells indicated to a decrease in water levels by 1\nm\/year, where the lowest level was in November. The comparison of groundwater\nwith rainfall clarified that the infiltration took two months to recharge the aquifers.\nThese findings highlighted&nbsp; the\nimportance of focusing&nbsp; on hydrological\nstudy of the watershed to give good management that optimizes the use of water\nby determining&nbsp; volume of precipitation,\nwater inflow, water outflow, storage and various requirements, then to&nbsp; develop of these resources through the\ndissemination of&nbsp; water harvesting\ntechniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key words<\/strong>: Watershed, Tal Al-Tot location, Water balance, Water loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Full paper in Arabic: <a href=\"http:\/\/agri-research-journal.net\/sjar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/v7n3p24.pdf\">PDF<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamil Abbas(1) and Hafez Mahmoud AlSalman*(1) (1).
