Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This\nresearch was carried out at Al-Ghab, Hama Province, during the two agricultural\nseasons 2016 and 2017, to study the effect of some rootstocks on productivity\nquantitatively and qualitatively. The experimental design was randomized completely\nblocks design. The hybrid muskmelon Palmeta F1 was grafted on three rootstocks\nnamely; Forza F1, Jawad F1, and Lagenaria siceraria. Mol, in addition to the\ncontrol, and each treatment replicated 4 times. The results showed that grafting\ncontributed to a significant increase in the average of total productivity and\nmarketing, which attained the highest values in the plants grafted on pumpkin rootstock\n Lagenaria siceraria<\/em>. Mol (5.85,\n5.29 tons\/dunum) compared to the control (2.33, 1.98 tons \/ dunum),\nrespectively. Also, the grafted plants showed a significant increase in the\nthickness of the cortex, the size of the seed cavity and the firmness of the\nfruits. The chemical content of the fruits showed a significant decrease in the\nratio of dry matter and total soluble solids of the plants that were grafted on\nthe Jawad F1, and pumpkin Lagenaria siceraria<\/em>. Mol rootstocks compared\nwith the control and the plants that were grafted on Forza F1 rootstock. While\nthe fruits of the grafted plants had high content of vitamin C compared to the\ncontrol which gave the lowest value (12.49 mg\/100 g).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
