The pulp and seeds were\nisolated and dried separately at 40\u00b0 C for 72 hours. The chemical composition\nwas estimated. High significant differences (P&lt;0.05) were observed for\nmoisture, ash and carbohydrate contents between pulp and seeds. No significant\ndifferences (P&lt;0.05) were observed for protein and lipids. 50% of ethanol\nsolution extracts of pulp and seeds were prepared with different concentrations\nof (5, 25, 50, 75 and 100) mg\/ml. Antioxidant activity, reducing power and FRAP\n(Ferric reducing\/antioxidant power) were measured. Significant differences (P&lt;0.05)\nwere found between the concentrations mentioned above and tamarind extracts\n(pulp and seed). High significant differences (P&lt;0.05) were found for the concentration\nof 100 mg\/ml of pulp extracts, while low significant differences for the concentration\nof 5 mg\/ml of seed extract for all the mentioned tests in comparison with the standard\ncompounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key words<\/strong>: <em>Tamarindus indica, <\/em>Antioxidant activity, Chemical composition, Reducing power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Full paper in Arabic: <a href=\"http:\/\/agri-research-journal.net\/sjar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/v7n2p13.pdf\">PDF<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shamaail A.
