Abstract
To identify the genetic variance of 19 genotypes of Ceratonia Siliqua L. spread in the south and southeast of Latakia governorate using RAPD marker، twelve primers were tested during the period of 2016 and 2017. All of the primers showed high efficiency in detecting genetic variation between the studied genotypes. A total of 93 clear bands were generate, 59 were polymorphic with a variation of 63.44%. Phylogenetic analysis showed a genetic variation of 28%. This variation was evident between genotypes from different locations as well as between genotypes from the same location، which confirmed that the variation is mainly due to genetic variation within the studied genotypes and not due to the environmental and geographical conditions. Genetic variation within studied genotypes of Ceratonia Siliqua L. form an important part of Syrian carob that could be employed effectively in breeding programs and genetic improvement of carob.
